AGRICULTURAL, FISHERIES AND TOURISM TRADE SHOW, TONGA

So I decided to stay at Eua one night. Luckily me was that the next day was Agricultural, Fisheries and Tourism Trade Show at the island. Also, I heard that Tongas king should visit!

After a lot of waiting and asking I finally knew when the boat was supposed to go back to the main island. But, I need to once again be there two hours before so they don’t leave without me.. x)

So in the morning I was walking around and watching the different stalls that contained everything from fish, handicrafts to goats to cakes to information. After I been walking around and waited for a while the king finally came (2h late 😮). Then there was a lot of speeches before it was his turn. I have no idea what he said, but the first half was apparently very funny 😝 And after that more speeches and it was then I decided to head back to the ferry (one hour earlier), because I didn’t understand anything.. When I headed back I turned around a house and i saw a lot of dancers getting ready – typical.. x) But I decided to walk to the ferry anyway.

The promenade took me about 45 minutes and in the end it was very warm. I decided to leave the main road and walk around where the people lived. The roads were very bad, but the kids were very cute and always said hello/goodbye and waived. Also saw a lot of piglets for some reason. When I arrived to the ferry I realised there is absolutely nothing to do there. I had 1 hour to kill.. I decided to walk to a hidden beach 20 minutes away, it was not a very nice beach and a lot of rubbish on the way 😕

I was at the ferry 2h before and obviously it was not early so I sat there for two hours. I spoke a little with a local with very bad English and got a cupcake from another local women ^^ After 2h it was boarding time, I got a very good spot and was happy with that. But, it seemed like they tried to fit a very big trolley and it took around an hour before they decided to take the crane and just tie it in the air. Nice… One hour late.. I was not in a hurry so I guess it was ok after all ^^
