SNORKLING AND SWIMMING WITH DOLPHINS 🐬, ZANZIBAR
This day didn’t start as early like before, but still quite early because we booked a snorkling and swimming with dolphins tour. We packed everything before and went down to the breakfast. The breakfast was really nice with a buffet of various things. We even got a chef doing the omelette. At around 9 it was time for the trip. We walked to the boat and got our snorkelling gear and headed off. When we got out to the deeper part of the ocean the water got rough and there was quite big waves. For those who seen Moana, that’s what we felt like. Quite funny, a Canadian in our company said ”The waves are bigger than the boat!” and got splashed and soaked from one straight after, and continued: ”… Yes they are bigger than the boat” ^^ After a lot up and down we arrived to the snorkelling place. There were a lot of fish and therefore a lot of boats. Quite touristy but still quite nice. Saw a lot of fish which is nice Later when we were done, they gave us water and fruits (pineapple and mango) and then we headed to search for dolphins. The sea was still quite rough but eventually we saw them. Maybe 10-15 of them! Tobias and I was so ready to jump into the water but then got told that the sea is to rough.. So still no swimming with wild dolphins. I guess it is back on the bucket list again xP The way back was to be honest horrible and very bumpy. We all were soaked and got splashed all the time.
When we got back to the beach we felt that we got a lot of sun and some of us (hint hint, not me) burned its back quite badly. We decided to take a shower and take alovera and just relax. We then decided to go to the near by ”village” – which is only a short street. We took a small walk along the street and stopped to buy sunscreen and schampo (you never know when you will be able to buy those things again 😝). Soap we have, because we bought ”locally made” lemon grass soap that has mosquito repelling abilities – Great if it works ^^
After the walk we decided to eat and have a cold local (always local) beer. Surf a little on Internet, hung out with some people from our group and took a stroll along the beach in the sunset.
Now at the moment we just sitting with a nice drink before we go to bed. Because tomorrow we need to catch the ferry back to Dar el Salaam from Stone Town and our transport goes at 4:45 😵💫
