CAMERON HIGHLANDS, MALAYSIA
I arrived in Kuala Lumpur quite late and I was at my hostel around one. I decided to sleep as much as possible (because I was sooooo tired) and fix with accommodation and transport in the morning. I woke up around 10:00 and started to look for accommodation in Perhensian Islands. Everything was fully booked. So I needed to rearrange my plans and I decided to go to Cameron Highlands.
On my way to the bus station I met a guy from Indonesia and he decided to join me to Cameron Highlands. After a long bus trip we arrived but we were too late to actually book anything. I also realised that my last bus to George Town went at 14:30 which was earlier than I thought. We decided to meet up at 8:00 the next morning and get everything sorted then. Just before I went to bed I talked to two girls in my room that recommended me to go to the tourist offices and book the same day (because the half day tours starts at 8:30-8:45). We did that and it worked!
The tour started with going to the Mossy Forest. We had a guide with us and he told us a little about the different plants and berries. He then left us half the way and we could walk around and look at the amazing view and the nice forest.
After this we went to the Boh Tea Garden & Tea factory. Here we took a cup of tea (and I a cheese bun too) and enjoyed the view.
Later we headed to a butterfly farm and a strawberry farm. At the strawberry farm I asked if I could get a strawberry so I could try and see the difference between Malaysian and Swedish strawberries. I got one and it was sweet but still had a bitterness to it. Swedish are still better 🙂 Plus they are growing them in pots here 😮 There was a lot of traffic and sometimes we stood completely still. It is always like this every weekend apparently. I was planning to take the bus 14:30 but the guy at the tourist desk recommended me to not book anything because they couldn’t guarantee that we would be back at 13:30 which was the said time. Because of all the traffic. In the end I made it to the 14:30! Next stop, George Town.
