Volvo Trucks
Full instrument cluster digitalisation
I was in a big project where we created a fully digital instrument cluster. The project had been going on during about three years when I joined and was in the final stage of designing. This ment a lot of tweaking of design, but also new features and visualisation of existing features. I also was tasked to design the Entertainment View which is when the driver is not driving. A whole blank page where no one has done anything with.
Facelift of the digital screen
One of Volvos’ smaller city trucks needed a facelift when it was given a new screen. The old screen only contained of black and white while the new screen was both bigger and could display colour. The challenge was to create a design that took the same technology and functions but visualise it in a more intuitive and user friendly way.
Volvo Buses
Full instrument cluster digitalisation
Based of the knowledge I had from working with the full digitalisation of the instrument cluster in Trucks, I got the assignment of helping Volvo Buses to do the same journey.
They used most of the existing program, but also needed my help to change it from truck centered to bus centered. That ment that a lot of visualisations and functionality needed to be changed.
Prototyping for Renault and Volvo Trucks
During my first time at Volvo Trucks I created high-fidelity prototypes for Renault so that we and they could try out their design the physical rigs. This ment that I had to create JavaScript and CSS program that could be used in the rigs. I also created some concept prototypes for Volvo Trucks where we could try different designs. In the end of that assignment I started to do prototypes using ProtoPie aswell.
Volvo Penta
Auto Docking boat
This project was during a short period of time. The feature had been worked on for a long time, but when almost done, they realised they needed an interface. The time frame was quite limited due to the decision on showcasing the new feature on Volvo Ocean Race.
With the new feature the boats can auto dock themself to an pre-registred parking space. The interface visualises the time, the different steps needed to be taken and the orientation of the boat which helps the skipper to know what to do and expect.
This feature was displayed on the big screen which was a cool experience 😊
