SUKHOTHAI

Now I’m in Sukhothai which is in northern Thailand. Apparently not many tourist come here but they recommend it in Lonely Planet, so it must be good (y).

I took a bus from Bangkok to Sukhothai witch was nice and no hassle at all. Even got water and some cookies 🙂 To get to the bus station (Mo Chit Bus station) was more interesting.

The day before I read about all these things they try to trick you. One thing was to tell you set prices. And the woman in the hostel told me it cost around 25kr. Now, I realised that it was to another bus station… Oh well. Got a quite nice deal I think. Anyway. I went out to the first taxi driver and he told me it cost 100kr. I asked him about taxameter and he answered with some lie that I don’t even remember. After walking around and try to get a price for 25kr I ended up with 50kr. This is where the fun begins.. I thought I was supposed to go into a taxi, but apparently he had a motor bike. I got an helmet and mounted the bike with all my bags (and remember that one of them weighs around 15kg). I told him ”please don’t kill me” and he laughed. I was klinching him like I was his backpack. He drove fast, sometimes on red and between cars. Here the rule ”biggest first” or ”the right rule” seem not to excist and bikes goes first. Even though after all this, it didn’t feel unsafe at all. It was just how people did it. The only ”problem” was that I got tired in my leg muscles after nearly squeezing him flat, working with my stomach muscles to not flip over when he increased speed and leaving swetty hand prints on his shoulders. But the wind was nice and I think it took half of the time as it would take with an ordinary taxi. 😁

When I arrived at the hostel, a really nice man helped me. And because he liked me, he lowered the price 🙂

Now everything is fine and I will join two guys from England tomorrow. 🙂
This was my breakfast today btw:
