NADI, FIJI
So, my first day at Nadi was fun! Maybe a slow start but ended totally awesome. I arrived, my bag was there and I didn’t need to wait more than one minute – nice! I found my pick up quickly and he took me and another woman from US to the hostel. I arrived to the hostel and checked in. As soon I got my bed I jumped right into the shower! OMG that was nice! And long time overdue 😝 *Tall person problem* the shower head was so low that I didn’t fit under it.. x)
When I was done the time was maybe around 14:00 and I thought that maybe I could go into the city and check it out. Then they told me that it was Sunday and almost all stores are closed. D*mn, what now? The hostel was by the beach so I took a walk alongside the beach. After that I sat down to eat something, and after taking an another walk (it was not much to see to be honest) I sat down on the beach and just soaked everything in and listened to the waves. I sat there until the sun went down. I bought a beer just to sit down and I sat there for a while until a German girl came and sat with me. It was her, another American girl and I who sat together and talked until we decided to join the Kava Ceremony. I have heard about this kava and was not sure if I should drink it, thought I maybe could fake drink it – Not possible. Almost as soon I sat down they gave me a cup and told me to chug it. ”Ta seden dit du kommer”.. it wasn’t that bad, but it tasted as dirt.. x) so we sat there, drank kava and a guy played the guitar while we sang along. Super nice! In the end there was three guitars and one ukulele.
Early in the morning next day I took the transfer bus to the port where my boat which will take me to Kuata Barefoot! The boat ride took two hours, but now I’m here at Kuata Barefoot 🙂
