CHITIMBA, MALAWI

This day started eaaarly. The bus went at 4:00 witch meant we set our alarm clock at 3:15. We went to bed early so it was quite OK. But in the morning in pitch black, we took down our tent and packed our stuff – luckily I brought a flashlight so we tied it in the roof of our tent working as a lamp 😁 On the bus I think we slept about 3-3.5h and then it was time for breakfast. We also prepared lunch sandwiches to eat on the bus. Once again we could sit and look at the nice scenery, the bigger villages and also when the chef bought fresh groceries on the road.

Today is the day we crossed the border to Malawi. The border crossing from the Tanzanian side was easy, only problem was that the bank that we planned to exchange our TZS to Dollars to pay the visa fee was demolished. It was too close to the road and needed to be relocated. But the problem got solved by our tour guide that knew a guy at the border that could do the exchange so all was good 👍 At the Malawi border we heard that it could take really long time (up to 3h, which happened to the group before) because they are not in a hurry. Luckily for us it only took around an hour, everyone was very surprised ^^ Also, it seems like the people with middle names got one of the names as first name – Except Tobias for some weird reason.. x) My visa says Sofia Romell ^^ The roads in Malawi seems better than Tanzania, they are actually asfalt x) The drive to the camp site was nice but some parts it was very rainy.

Some look at the scenery, some not.. ^^

Same as the other days, we put up the tent and sat at the bar, drinking local beer with good company 🙂 Food was good as always and now we are drinking cocktails at the bar 🙂
